Overview of the Indian Trails

Neighborhood

The Indian Trails neighborhood is not to be confused with its neighbor, Indian Hills. Indian Trails is a small, close-knit neighborhood of 550 residents that is located in the Southwest quadrant of the city of Edina. It is bordered on the north by West Trail, on the east by Dakota Trail as well as Valley View, on the south by Hilary Lane and Braemar Boulevard, and on the west by Highway 169. Usually considered to be a part of the greater Indian Hills neighborhood, residents wanted to be distinguished between the two neighborhoods bearing similar names.

Indian Trails is also known as the “foothills” because the topography gently angles down from the Indian Hills neighborhood into the area. The neighborhood lies outside of Braemar Golf Course, and is just across the Valley View bridge from the Braemar Field & Sports Dome, Courtney Fields, and the Braemar Ice Arena, making it a great spot for athletically inclined families. Indian Trails is more affordable than Indian Hills and provides around 200 homes, mostly in the styles of ramblers and two-story houses. The Valley View Road portion of Indian Trails has been reconfigured with a new roundabout, new sidewalks, and new bike lanes, resulting in a more family-friendly and walkable neighborhood. Indian Trails may be one of the smaller neighborhoods in the area, but it was the home to two inductees into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Both Kirby Puckett and Paul Molitor lived in the Indian Trails neighborhood.

One of the most convenient aspects of life in the Indian Trails neighborhood is the close proximity to US Highway 169. Residents enjoy the quick and easy access that they have to the majority of the Twin Cities metro area. With ample employment, entertainment, dining and outdoor options located within close proximity, residents enjoy some of the finest living found within the state.

Braemar Golf Course: The Braemar Golf Course encompasses the majority of the Braemar Hills neighborhood, and borders Breamer Golf Course in Edina, MinnesotaIndian Trails. At 500 acres, Braemar features 27 regulation holes, two 9-hole executive courses, a pro shop, driving range, practice putting green, indoor golf dome, banquet and meeting rooms and much more. Having been rated in the top 75 public golf courses in the nation by Golf Digest, the Braemar Golf Course is a staple of the local community.
